About Women Student Services

Mission

The Office of Women Student Services promotes awareness and pride in women's individuality and enriches the academic, cultural and social experiences of women students at The Ohio State University. We are committed to supporting women's full involvement in college life, and to promoting an equitable, positive campus environment, by working to reduce gender inequities.

WSS also provides services, resources, support, mentoring, networking, research opportunities, academic initiatives, and programs that address women's issues, needs, and concerns for all students, staff and faculty. The WSS staff works to assure an inclusive and welcoming environment for all women students, advocating on behalf of "traditional" students, as well as addressing the needs of women of color, older women, differently-abled women, international women, members of the LBT community, and students with children, etc.

We routinely address such issues as racism, heterosexism, sexual harassment, coalition-building among diverse women, reproductive rights, self-esteem, beauty and body image, relationships, women's health, balancing multiple roles, parenting, and career counseling.
