About Men's Initiatives

Mission

The primary mission of Men's Initiatives is to provide programming and educational resources for all OSU community members regarding the needs of men and masculine-identified college students.

Vision

  • To promote the positive development of men and masculine-identified students on the Ohio State campus.
  • To advocate for the unique gendered needs of men and masculine-identified students.
  • To provide educational resources and programs regarding men and masculinity for the OSU community.
  • To prevent gender-based violence and gender-related discrimination.
  • To support other departments within the OSU community.
  • To offer resources for students interested in masculinity and men's issues.
  • To connect students and community members with the resources that they seek.
  • To serve as an online clearinghouse for questions related to masculinity and mens development.
  • To be an inclusive, online community of educators and students.

Values

We strive to connect our students with resources that can aid their success. We provide information regarding events involving men students, concerning mens studies issues, and for varying constituencies of men. We want to help students to see what Ohio State can offer them and their futures. Men's Initiatives desires to be a virtual community where all members of the Ohio State community feel welcome and valued. We welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions at any time. History

Men's Initiatives @ OSU was created as a safe space where all students can discuss and receive information about masculinity and men's gendered educational concerns.
