POSTPONED -- MCC Presents Drums & Dough -- An Intercultural Journey through Music and Breads
September 21, 2009 (8:00 pm - 11:00 pm)
Location: South Oval, College and 12th Avenues, Ohio State campus
SADLY, we have had to postpone this event, due to inclement weather. Please watch for our new date!
Joining the Multicultural Center to make this event a success are First Year Experience, University Housing, RecSports, the Ohio Union, Coke and Papa John's -- many thanks!
This Welcome Week all-community event features several drumming performances across cultures (The Saints Drumline (multicultural Columbus youth drumline), Thunder Nation American Indian/Indigenous group with Peter Chiquito Hoop Dancer, the OSU Steel Pan Ensemble (Caribbean music) and MDOFE: Multicultural Drumming Originates From Everywhere Women's Drum Chorus).
The event culminates with a Community Drum & Dance Jam for the crowd to join! The OSU Outdoor Activities Center will bring a few world percussion instruments to share, but feel free to bring drums or just enjoy moving with the groove.
We will also feature breads from different cultures (Vietnamese Veggie Spring Rolls, American Indian Fried Bread, Italian American Bread Sticks and Mexican Empanadas).
Come eat, dance, drum and make new friends!
And welcome back to OSU!!
