Diversity Toolbox Project
The Diversity Toolbox Project is an initiative from the Multicultural Center that seeks to provide an innovative approach to enhancing diversity awareness among students, faculty and staff. To the right, you will find all currently available DTP fact sheets. These facts sheets are intended to simply introduce you to a particular topic and provide resources in the event that you want to explore the issue further. We encourage you to use them as a way to become more familiar with a variety of issues, groups, and topics. New topics are currently in development and will be featured here soon, so check back often!
How Can I use the Diversity Toolbox Project?
In addition to deepening your awareness about a plethora of diversity related current events and interesting topics, the DTP can be used in the following ways:
- To strike up a conversation with an equally as informed peer
- As fodder for your next research paper or in-class presentation
- To jump start a current event discussion for a student organization meeting
For Resident Advisors (RAs)
- Cut out the different sections, mount on some construction paper and hang up in your hall for snazzy diversity bulletin board
- Use the topics to plan a great diversity. Call the MCC and ask if one of the Intercultural Specialist is available to help facilitate your program.
- Print out a specific Diversity Toolbox and use it to guide discussions on your floor to help increase sensitivity to diverse topics.
