One of MCC's unique strengths is in how the cultural offices each have their own important origins across a span of almost 40 years. When the MCC was formed in 2001, it was created to serve as a center for all the specific cultural student services to be housed together to better coordinate services and share resources.

Beginning with our extensive Program Review process in 2005-2006, the MCC has been powering through an important transformative re-articulation of our work.

In response to what we learned in the Program Review and in student focus groups and stakeholders surveys, we have revised our Strategic Plan, Vision, Mission, Values and Goals statements to design and implement an intercultural model to address intergroup relations for everyone while still serving traditional and emerging identity groups. We recognize that this model pushes the envelope of previous models of multicultural work and we continually dialogue about how to serve all while balancing the needs of specific groups. We welcome your engagement in our new intercultural model!

As we began to go through our Program Review in 2005, we also moved to the Lincoln Tower basement swing space where we now wait for our prominent new home in the Ohio Union. We have had several staffing shifts and have restructured our coordinator staff positions to Intercultural Specialists with expertise across constituency groups. We've moved from an evaluative to an assessment culture, to improve our thinking in how our programs align with our learning objectives and the service goals of Student Life and OSU. And we've begun an engaging new outreach and branding campaign to welcome everyone to our new intercultural direction.
